Time-lapse of sun creating a smile in the bright blue sky.

Since the sun will soon be gone for quite a long stretch, you might as well try to get as much of it while you can.  Last week, IceCube winterover Yuya did just that with his camera, capturing a nice time-lapse of the sun around midnight that made a little “smile” in the sky.  And there’s plenty to smile about.  As they head into winter, the greenhouse is flourishing, packages have arrived, and there’s a little penguin being outfitted with cold weather gear to keep them company.  Of course, even though the dark of winter has not set in yet, not every day is sunny—or even clear, as indicated in the bottom photo, where the person standing outside almost appears to be photographed inside against a white backdrop.
