ICL interior corridor with lots of red cables in walls and ceiling

The summer season is nearing its end.  So IceCube’s winterovers were busy helping summer crew wrap up their tasks.  That included some cleaning and recabling in the ICL.  Each of those red cables is connected to four DOMs in the ice.  There are a lot (!) of cables, see full corridor view below.  At the end of the week, they held an IceCube open house at the ICL for everybody on station to visit.  The winterovers gave tours and answered visitors’ questions.  The black and white images at the bottom were from IceCube winterover Raffaela’s adventure helping dig out vaults for another experiment at the Pole, which monitors seismic activity.
