Last week began with cold, beautiful weather.  The sun was out when all four winterovers set off in a pisten bully to visit all the IceTop stations.  These trips are part of the regular task of measuring snow accumulation at the stations.  Looks like they were having a good time.  But the good weather didn’t hold.  In fact, most of the week saw reduced visibility that caused many flights to be cancelled—leaving some people frustrated as they’ve been eager to depart and others anxious as they’ve been waiting for their luggage to arrive!  In the meantime, IceCube’s newest winterovers got a tour of the ice tunnels, some training on taking power plant shifts, and an introduction to the dish pit.
