As dawn approaches, winterovers at the South Pole begin anticipating skies of blue.  While a blue sky may seem boring to some, especially after the many displays of auroras throughout the winter, the long twilight actually provides plenty of dawn colors to enjoy while outdoors.  And although it’s still quite dark, when the moon is out, there is enough light to photograph some things without a snow lamp, like the bottom image of the IceAct telescope.  It was actually a bit easier to discern in the darkness over a month ago since it was then lit up by its own heater coil.
