They’re watching something—but what? This is the communications (or “Comms”) office at the South Pole station. Not normally the site for recreational activities, but last week it played host to participants in an international darts tournament among the Antarctic stations. South Pole was up against Scott Base. After a close match, South Pole garnered a win with a final bullseye. Further matches are in the works. Also last week, IceCube winterover Stephan Richter could be seen helping out on the breakfast line for a manager’s cook day. And outside, some auroras were visible even against a sky brightly lit by the moon.
