This photograph of the ICL (IceCube Lab) almost looks as if it’s set against an artificial backdrop, but it is just the eerie effect of the sky lit by a rising moon. No special-effects lighting inside in the galley, where winterover Dag was stationed for his dish pit duty. Just your run-of-the-mill indoor brightness, so you can keep awake if you’re tired … and can see inside those pans.
