Week 21 at the Pole

Last week, IceCube’s winterovers were quite busy.  There were a few battery and other power supply failures to troubleshoot and reckon with, and a couple of other minor detector issues—all resolved smoothly though.  In station life, they had The Big Lebowski Night, with some folks dressing in appropriate costumes.  Also last week was international Towel Day—who knew?  (Actually, anyone who has read this classic volume knew, and perhaps celebrated in their own way.) Martin took his towel out and posed hitchhiking at the South Pole sign in commemoration, with the Milky Way and auroras overhead.  No one picked him up.
