We know that there aren’t any penguins at the South Pole—not real penguins anyway.  No animal life of any kind can survive unaided in that extreme environment.  But look what showed up in the dish pits lately.  Hmmm.  At least this shark infestation poses no real danger.  It was an otherwise typical busy week at the Pole, with a few minor hiccups and some maintenance for the IceCube detector, some fire training for staff, and at least a few days of clear skies for aurora viewing.
