Bright moon behind IceCube Lab, almost looks like sun

Last week was a relatively busy week at the Pole.  For IceCube’s winterovers, there were inclinometer measurements and test runs for detector configurations.  For the station, there was some power plant generator testing and a special dinner celebrating Cinco de Mayo.  But with all the activity, the photos from the winterovers reflect a peacefulness outside, with the impending darkness of winter still held off by a bright moon (that is the moon in both photos).
