IceCube’s winterovers spend about thirteen months at the South Pole, trained for and ready to tackle a variety of situations needing their attention. Some weeks are very busy, and some weeks less so, but there is always something going on. This week they had a power supply failure to fix along with some other minor hiccups, a relatively quiet week. Not outside—there, the temperatures were high, with strong winds and poor visibility. Not the best photo-taking circumstances, but still they got a faint aurora with a glimpse of the Milky Way over the station.
